Say So About
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 - Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
Say So: My body is not for sexual immorality. I was bought with a great price through the cross and now my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I will flee from sexual immorality and will not sin against my own body. I will glorify God in my body and spirit through obedience to Him.
Job 31:1, 12 - I have made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I look upon a young woman [or man][lustfully]? For that would be a fire that consumes to destruction, and would root out all my increase.
Psalm 101:3 - I will set nothing wicked before my eyes…
Say So: I take authority over my flesh and my eyes. I will discipline myself with the Lord's strength to live in a godly manner with those around me. I will not give in to lust which opens the door to destruction and cuts off my increase.
2 Peter 1:3-4 - As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Say So: Lust shall not rule and reign in my life. Jesus has set me free from its corruption and I will give it no place in my life. I take hold of the precious promises of the Word and allow God's divine nature to be brought forth in me in abundance. I am an overcomer, I am a winner in Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:15-17 - Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Say So: I will not give in to the base things of this world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. These things will not have a hold on me. I am a child of God, and my love is for Him and all that He has for me. I am a person of the Word. I do the will of God, therefore I will be steadfast and abide forever in Him.
Psalm 119:9, 11 - How can a young man [or woman] cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
Say So: The Word of God provides great overcoming power to me. Therefore, I am hiding God's Word in my heart so that I will not sin against Him. This is great wisdom for me - I will keep my ways pure by taking heed and paying attention to the Word of God.
Romans 13:12-14 - Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
Say So: I will make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lustful desires, but will instead put on the Lord Jesus Christ. I take up the armor of light in Him and cast off the works of darkness in every form. His provision is far better than anything the world has to offer.
